हिन्दू धर्म के अनुसार कार्तिक शुक्ल एकादशी को भगवान विष्णु अपनी चार महीने की योगनिद्रा से जागते हैं। इस पावन तिथि को देवउठनी ग्यारस या देव प्रबोधिनी एकादशी के नाम से जाना जाता है।
इस साल देवउठनी एकादशी का पर्व 4 नवंबर, शुक्रवार को है। देवउठनी एकादशी से ही सभी मांगलिक कार्य आरंभ हो जाते हैं। देवउठनी एकादशी का दिन श्री हरि विष्णु को समर्पित है। इस दिन जो भी भक्त भगवान विष्णु की आराधना करता है, उसकी बंद किस्मत खुल जाती है और उसको धन लाभ भी मिलता है।
देवउठनी एकादशी शुभ मुहूर्त:
हिंदू पंचांग के अनुसार, कार्तिक माह के शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी 3 नवंबर, गुरुवार की शाम 7 बजकर 30 मिनट से शुरू होकर, 4 नवंबर शुक्रवार की शाम 6 बजकर 8 मिनट पर होगा समापन।

शुभ मुहूर्त में स्नान आदि से निवृत होकर घर की सफाई करें। इसके बाद घर के आंगन में भगवान विष्णु के पदचिह्न बनाएं। फिर भगवान विष्णु का ध्यान करते हुए व्रत का संकल्प लें। पूरे दिन व्रत रखकर शाम के समय भगवान विष्णु की विधिवत पूजा-अर्चना करें।
मंत्र का जाप जरूर करें –
उत्तिष्ठ गोविन्द त्यज निद्रां जगत्पतये. त्वयि सुप्ते जगन्नाथ जगत् सुप्तं भवेदिदम्॥
उत्थिते चेष्टते सर्वमुत्तिष्ठोत्तिष्ठ माधव. गतामेघा वियच्चैव निर्मलं निर्मलादिशः॥
शारदानि च पुष्पाणि गृहाण मम केशव
घर की दरिद्रता होती है दूर:
देव उठनी एकादशी के बाद से ही सभी मांगलिक कार्य फिर से शुरू हो जाते हैं। इस दिन भगवान विष्णु की पूजा के बाद उन्हें सूप पीटकर नींद से जगाया जाता है। ऐसी मान्यता है कि सूप पीटने से घर की दरिद्रता दूर होती है। लंबे समय से ये परंपरा चली आ रही है।
तुलसी और शालिग्राम विवाह:
कार्तिक मास की द्वादशी तिथि पर तुलसी और भगवान शालिग्राम का विवाह किया जाता है। इस साल तुलसी विवाह 5 नवंबर को होगा। तुलसी और भगवान शालिग्राम के विवाह के बाद से ही शुभ कार्यों की शुरुआत हो जाती है।
