प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय की ओर से किए गए एक ट्वीट में कहा गया है कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपने निजी बचत से 21 लाख रुपए की राशि कुंभ मेला के सफाईकर्मियों के कल्याण कोष में दान में दी। इसमें कहा गया है कि यह प्रधानमंत्री मोदी की ओर से उठाए जाने वाले ऐसे कदमों की श्रृंखला में ताजा कदम है।

पीएमओ ने एक अन्य ट्वीट में कहा कि हाल ही में दक्षिण कोरिया में सियोल शांति सम्मान प्राप्त करने के तत्काल बाद उन्होंने इसमें मिली 1.3 करोड़ रुपए की राशि नमामि गंगे मद में देने की घोषणा की थी।
इसमें कहा गया है कि हाल ही में नरेंद्र मोदी ने प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान मिले उपहारों की नीलामी से एकत्र 3.40 करोड़ रुपए भी नमामि गंगे योजना के लिए दान कर दिया। इससे पहले प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने साल 2015 तक उन्हें मिले तोहफों की नीलामी से मिले 8.33 करोड़ रुपए भी नमामि गंगे मिशन को दान में दिए थे।
गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में कार्यकाल पूरा करने के बाद नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपनी निजी बचत से 21 लाख रुपए गुजरात सरकार के कर्मचारियों की बेटियों के लिए दिए थे। बहरहाल, उत्तरप्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने कुंभ मेले को सफल आयोजन बनाने के लिये मंगलवार को मंत्रियों, अधिकारियों और सफाई कर्मियों को बधाई दी।
