लगातार 19वें वर्ष, सौर ऊर्जा ने वैश्विक स्तर पर सबसे तेजी से बढ़ते बिजली स्रोत के रूप में अपनी स्थिति बरकरार रखी है, 2023 में कोयले को एक महत्वपूर्ण अंतर से पीछे छोड़ दिया है। केवल चीन, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका और ब्राजील से पीछे है।

2023 में वैश्विक सौर ऊर्जा अभूतपूर्व ऊंचाइयों पर पहुंच गई, जिसमें 2015 के बाद से छह गुना वृद्धि हुई। इस वृद्धि में भारत का योगदान उल्लेखनीय था, बिजली उत्पादन में सौर ऊर्जा की हिस्सेदारी 2015 में 0.5 प्रतिशत से बढ़कर 2023 में 5.8 प्रतिशत हो गई, जो एक आशाजनक संकेत है। स्वच्छ ऊर्जा की ओर प्रक्षेपवक्र।
